My writing portfolio consists of the following websites:
I set up my personal blog in early 2016, covering a wide variety of topics such as personal development, leadership, my worldly observations, self-improvement, health, sport and careers.
I like to think of my writing style as educational and informative, delivered through observational humour.
The Final Whistle
In December 2015, I joined a start-up that set out to assist athletes with transitioning from sport. Using my business partner’s expertise in career development and education, we decided to focus on the career aspect of life after sport, reasoning that by being able to answer the important question of, “What am I going to do next that will provide the same level of enjoyment?” we would go some way into alleviating the stress of retirement from sport.
Here are three examples of newsletters I have both designed and produced on a regular basis.
In late 2008, I commenced my writing career, volunteering to write blog posts for The South African, a publication based in London for expat-South Africans. I had started a travelling stint and blogged about rugby and cricket, specifically giving readers a vantage point from my position sitting in the stadiums! This continued and I have written for them and edited the sports section on and off ever since.
Move to Australia
As mentioned before, I started blogging for The South African back in November 2008. Over the years, I developed a relationship with Blue Sky Publications (the publishing company) and in late 2012, they asked me to write some content for their Move to Australia category, much of which still appears on the site.
We are continuing to work on this project and have recently hit refresh on the content; I am also a business development representative for Blue Sky in Australia.
As indicated above, this was the cricket blog I wrote, but never fully developed. I do have a few blog posts in my head that I could publish, so maybe you will see some more content from this in the future!
I include it here for reference and there are some interesting posts nonetheless, particularly from my travels to Australia in December 2008.
Let's start a conversation!
